Your Beauty Revived
Hoping to minimize your facial lines and wrinkles? If you don’t want surgery, there are other options. The Vampire Facial™, trademarked by designer-physician, Charles Runels, MD, offers an innovative combination that’s become a sensation worldwide.
With the Vampire Facial™, growth factors, combined with micro-needling, turn on the skin’s healing mechanisms, leading to the decrease in fine lines and wrinkles, increased elasticity and firmness, smoother texture, and younger color.
The skin tightens, and glows with color, and scaring softens for a beautiful, younger and very natural result.
What Is It?
A Vampire Facial™ is a combination of microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Microneedling uses short, fine needles to puncture the skin. The pricks are used to “injure” the skin, prompting your skin to heal itself by producing elastin and collagen, and allowing the PRP to penetrate deeper. Once the microneedling is completed, PRP is applied to your skin topically. PRP is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein produced from blood. PRP has a large concentration of growth factors, helping tissue to heal and repair, treating all types of skin issues.
How Does It Work?
Microneedling with PRP is administered in an office setting. The first step is the initial blood draw, which is relatively painless. Your blood is then placed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma and platelets from the red blood cells. Before the microneedling portion of the treatment begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the face to manage any discomfort of the needling. Once the numbing cream is active and the microneedling has been completed, the PRP is rubbed on the skin. The PRP should remain on the skin for the rest of the day to maximize results.
How Long Will It Take?
The Vampire Facial™ procedure only takes about an hour to complete and that includes the: blood draw, preparation of the PRP, and The Vampire Facial™ itself.
What Does It Help?
A Vampire Facial™ can be useful for those who have scars, wrinkles or sun damage. By reintroducing PRP back into the skin, cell turnover is encouraged, which leads to an increase of collagen and elastin production. Your skin will look smoother, tighter and fuller.
What Is Involved?
The Vampire Facial™ treatment is unique because it involves the use of your own blood. Platelets found in plasma are removed from a sample of your blood, then injected into areas of your face to augment healing.
Patients will notice dry, red, sensitive skin, much like a light sunburn for the first few days after treatment. The effects of the procedure improve for 2 to 3 months and last for at least 1 to 2 years!
